Visiting Morris
Week ago we went to visit Morris who is living in Bydgoszcz with his family. Morris left us a year ago as the last kitten from litter M to live with a family where everyone have a name beginning on this particular letter. So ther is Mrs Monika and Mr Maciej, a british shorthair girl named Mago and lately also a little boy – son of the owners – named Marcel.
At first Morris and Mago needed some time to get along as the girl couldn’t accept the fact, she’s no longer the apple in the eye. Morris didn’t make it any easier as he turned out to be even more cuddling then he was at the cattery with our five adult cats. He even started to purr which we didn’t see while he was still with us.
As soon as we stood by the door we could see Morris through the window as he was checking out who arrived. When I took him up he had to sniff everything – my hair in particular. During our stay he came back to it a couple of times and he also got interested in Tomeks’ hair as well… 🙂
When it came to checking out our staff, Morris got very interested in a key chain attached to my bag. It was a bunny made of a fake fur. It turned out to be even more interesting than the usual feather we got for him. Of course I couldn’t say no to him and as a result he ended up playing with the bunny most of the time we were there.

Morris has grown up since we last saw him. He got some colors and a bigger size. He has a very nice blue eye color and tabby pattern after his mom. During our visit we got an impression that he also makes the same faces as Helen does 🙂 Morris has a proportional and strong body. His head is nice and round, ears are perfectly set. His tail is properly long which may be thanks to his dad Nelson. Big and hipnotizing eyes Morris got from his mom but we rather see a reflection of his grandpa – Dofin.

Morris and Mago share a lots of toys. Because of Christmas they even got a mouse in Santas’ hat on her head. As for Morris he can take a great care of himself when it comes to playing. Most of plushy toys or mice he just throws up in the air and tries to catch it as they fall. It looks particulary funny when the toys are a bit bigger in size. In the cattery it was a lemur – a one also loved but our previous kitten Julian. This time, when we visited it was a bunny detached from my purse. Morris was so crazy with it, it was very hard to get a proper, focused photo…

As I mentioned before, from the very beginning Morris figured it out at new home but Mago didn’t accept him so easily. She needed a few weeks to get along. Maybe this is why their friendship isn’t that close as it usually is with thai cats who cuddle and wash each other. It may also be a character difference. While Morris is energethic and charysmatic little boy, Mago is a clam, balanced and a bit shy british lady. But they don’t argue about that too much 🙂 At first Mago tried to keep Morris on a distance but she learned to let go and somethimes she even steps aside. For example when she manages to open a wardrobe and get a spot to sleep and Morris finds out about it and also wants to try, she just let him stay there and searches for another place to nap.

Morris is very attached to his faimily. So much that he even is jealous of Mago sometimes. When she cuddles with Monika, Morris plays with her tail so long that she gets annyoed and walks away. Then he quickly steps on her place to cuddle. During the night they both sleep with their owners in bed to be together as a family. Both cats didn’t get used to Marcel yet. Sometimes they hide away when the boy is too loud for them. But when it’s quiet and calm they even take a look to his bed to check him out. Morris loves to sleep in the boys baby carriage.
Morris is very friendly towards guests. With his owners dad he gets along so well, that he even jumps on his back when he gets a chance. Morris is also a favourite of some friends daughter. He even goes on a trips to visit her from time to time. Later he comes back home so tired from playing with the girls, that he falls asleep and his nap last really long. While we were there he also didn’t waste his time and went crazy with the bunny or the feather we got him.
We also used the opportunity of a visit to get Mago and Morris their vaccinations and also microchip the girl. There was no problem with all that and Mago even spent some time with us afterwards. During injection Morris was more interested in snacks and toys but later he got a bit sulky for a while 😛 But luckily he was patient enough to have some cuddles with me and take some photos together.
We’d like to thank Morris’s family for the invitation and a great evening together. We hope this wasn’t our last meeting 🙂 We’ll keep our fingers crossed for Morris, Mago and Marcel growing up together 🙂
