Visiting Matylda -

On Saturday, after the lectures on PSLWMZ (Polish Association of Small Animal Practitioners) I had the opportunity to accept invitation for visiting Matylda and her family.

Matylda is from Helen first litter and since last year she lives with her family in Łódź. Since we’ve seen each other last time, she has grown up and got some colors. She still has intense blue eyes. Despite the fact she is seal point, you can see she got some tabby patterns from her mom as well – it’s noticeable because of some mild stripes on her legs.

It turned out that Matylda is a very sociable girl. As soon as I walked in she came to say hello – first she sniffed my shoes and then she came to check out how I smell. At once she got interested with the feathers I got her but later she showed more attention to fluffy key chain I had with my purse. I gave it to her to play but she had so much fun with it that I let her keep it as a gift.

Matylda was very patient with all my cuddles and petting. What’s more I found out she is also good with any guests. When they all sit by the table she walks around on their lap but she likes to observe everything from her owners lap most of all. During my visit she chose a spot by the TV and she closed her eyes just for a little bit so she can keep an eye on us 😉

Matylda, as well as our own cats, loves to keep company during naps, especially day time. During night she prefers to sleep at the bottom of the bed. Of course she doesn’t let any chance to play when something is moving under the covers. For everyday games she has lots of toys but she also likes to play with unusual things like hair tie.

Matylda sometimes meets other cats, because as the owners say – the whole family has cats and it started from Matylda. So now she occasionally has company of a Maine Coon cats – Junona and Krezus. They all get along pretty well. It also happends that she meets with a dog – yorkshire terier. This kind of relations are a good perspective for the future, cuz we hope soon Matylda will have a „sibling” who will stay with her for good (now everything depends on our girls and Cody 😉 ).

Matylda is very attached to her family. Sometimes when it’s time to say goodbye, because her people go to work, Matylda sits on their lap and falls asleep so they find it harder to leave. When someone is coming home, there is a signal that goes on when they type entrance code. When Matylda hears it, she goes to the door with her meowing and welcomes owners at the door. If there are any guests and sit at the dining table, she also lays by the door where she has a good view on everyone. She also tries not to fall asleep but sometimes it’s hard for her to resist. When I was there we changed places and went to another room and Matylda choose a place on the hutch, where she got a good view on us.

She is always so interested about everything around that it’s hard to take a good quality photo of her. One moment she looks in the camera but before the photo is done she is already interested by something else. It was hard to show her properly on the photos as I only got my self-phone camera. But luckily I received few photos of Matylda from her family (and it also wasn’t easy to take them).

Matylda, as well as most of our kittens, still likes snacks. She also grabs a hand with her little paws and pulls to her mouth. The fact that’s she’s so fond of snacks was usefull also this time. Because soon it was time to vaccinate her, my visit was combined with vets’ home visit. Matylda was so busy with her snacks that she didn’t even notice the injection.

I’m happy that some things don’t change when it comes to our kittens. Once again we’d like to thank Marta and Bartek for the invitation and very nice evening. We are certain we will meet again – maybe soon 😉
