Control tests for FIV and FeLV – 2016
Thai Cattery Viosna*PL for years remains free from dangerous diseases such as Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia (FeLV).
All our cats, including Cody, are also free from a genetic disorder causing a Progressive Retinal Atrophy that leads to complete blindness.
September is a monther when we do control test in the cattery. Considering that at the end of this week Helen is about to deliver her first kittens, we decided to wait no longer with that. Last Monday we took all our cats to the clinic for annual tests for FIV and FeLV. Additionally we also ollected blood samples from all our cats, except Cody, to make sure they are healthy and well.
During that visit Elmirka was the biggest surprise as she was politely sitting on my lap. There was no need to hold her, practicly she hand me her paw to take a blood sample and patiently waited untill the end. We were really impressed. She turned out to me best patient when it comes to collecting blood so far.
When it comes to the results of this year test – it was no surprise that we received negative outcome with both diseases for all our cats.
The result is achieved by tinting (or lack of it) preceise strips in the test windows. Method of these tests ir explained in one of ours previous posts and is availible HERE.
Cattery Viosna*PL still remains
free from dangerous diseases FIV & FeLV.
