WHISPER AMELIA*PL
Whisper comes from cattery Amelia*PL and she’s our first thai (old style siamese) breeding queen.
Her parents are:
Whisper is very intelligent and gentle queen. She quickly had learned how to open the doors, drink tab water, open the food container and walk on the leash. She perfectly understands what we say and usually she obeys basic comands (ex. “stay”, “get down”, “no”, “get back’). Simple plays bore her easily, that’s why toys cannot be just simply trown. It has to be a challange to get it for example from behind the pillow, under the table. For her favourite feathers she can climb under the ceiling (which means on the wardrobe, on the shelf etc.)
Whisper is a very devoted companion, she comes to say hello when we come back. She doesnt’ leave our side even in the bathroom, where she patiently awaits on the washing machine or drinking water from the tab. During the day, when we’re gone she sleeps in the company of Hieronim – half meter stuffed frog toy :). She doesn’t like to stay home alone so she became a great traveller. But she still prefers to have company in the carrier or on our laps.
Even at the seaside she overcame her cat fear of water, so she could join us on the beach. She comes on our lap or crawl under the covers when she wants to be pet or just doesn’t want to sleep alone.
Whisper is a very caring mother and she responds to every sound of her kittens. Sometimes even we “get it” – if the kittens are not in their bed by the sleeping time, their mom reminds us it’s time to bed with her lound meowing.
In 2017 Whisper got 8 years old and because of that she got well deserved retirement. Before her birthday she passed control health check and got castrated. After that she still stays with us, as we couldn’t imagine habing it any other way. As an eldest cat at home, she sometimes helps with raising kittens of next generations. She still loves to sleep with us in bed, play with feathers and drink tap water. Despite her retirement as a breeding queen, she practicly didn’ change much and regarding her age, she is also quite active as she was before.
We do regular health check ups of all the cats in the cattery. It allows us to control their status and – in case of troubles – enables early diagnosis for ex. of age related diseases. On the beginning of 2019, at almost 10 years old, Whisper was diagnosed with gastrointestinal lympoma. It’s a slowly progressing neoplasm in cats. Thanks to early diagnosis, prognosis was good.
