Litter W kittens

Kittens from litter W get bigger every day and grow to be more and more cursious. Some time ago we’ve faced the day when they started to leave their room on their own. Now they run around the house, hide is some stupid places (mostly under the furniture in the livingroom. But even when they spread everywhere, in the end they come back and look for their siblings company to nap. 

But at first it wasn’t so easy. When we took the little ones to the livingroom for the first time, they didn’t feel confident yet. They kept close to mom or us, observed everything from hiding spots and were not sure if they feel ok with such an open space. 

Luckily it took them only an hour and fascination with toys, to forget about beeing shy. Sometimes all it takes is feathers on a stick, balltunnel, hunting a sibling… These are the best ways to relieve stress and fear – not only in kittens, but with them you can see effects much faster. And overcoming your fear in discovering the wold is an important step in growing and socialising kittens. 

Of course mom Elmirka was watching over everything and taking care that kittens behave well. We also had an impression that she takes the opportunity we’re playing with them, and use this time to rest a little.

Kittens curiosuty won’t stop surprising us. As well as some situations that seem to repeat over the years. Little ones can walk around the house as they please and mostly they don’t care if they get dirty or not. This time one of the boys spent a little bit too much time around the firplace tools. As a result he “painted” his face. Which reminded us about Nutella, who did the very same thing a few litters before. 

 

 

Playing at new place means not only developing confidence in kittens but also improving the bond with them. Sometimes even after one they you can tell how they grow up – they tend to come to us more often, demand to cuddle. It happens that they fall asleep in funny positions and all that doesn’t matter if they feel we’re around. 

Using our evenings in the livingroom, we also try to get kittens used to posing for photos. Honestly speaking it’s not so easy afterall. From several dozens of photos only a few is fit to be posted. Luckily we’ve managed to take some of each kitten.
