Illy Viosna*PL

Thai female kitten Illy Viosna*PL and her siblings are from Whisper in our thai cattery  Viosna*PL.

Illy is a special girl. Although she is the smallest one, she is first to learn and develop new skills. She was the first one to eat cat food and figure out what cat litter and litterbox are for. She is really fond of us. She loves to cuddle and sleep with us in bed. When other kittens run and fool around, Illy first comes to fawn all over us before she goes to play with her siblings. She likes to be touched and you can tell that playing with human gives her a lot of joy. She often tries to lick or gently bite my hand when I pet her (especially on the belly). She also has no problems with getting along with Helenka. 🙂

Illy is also special in another way. Little ones from the very first moment look out for food. Kittens also have their preferences when it comes to that – they have nipples the especially like to suck and ones they don’t use unless they have to. Searching for milk often turns into fight and pushing others away. That’s why we take care that kittens nails are not to long and sharp. Especially when kittens start to open their eyes.

Unfortunately we’re not able to control everything and prevent things from happening. When it comes to Illy – at the very beginning of opening her eyes she probably got injured. Her eye wasn’t fully open then, which impeded healing even with proper conditions and used medicine. It also turned out that eye drops said to be used as first in that kind of cases, didn’t fully work for Illys’ eye and we had to use stronger medication. We managed to get rid of the infection and inflammation but because Illy was so little when it all started she got cornea lesion. She still gets opthalmological drugs because we still hope to improve her condition. Probably, when she gets bigger, she will need eye surgery to improve her sight.

Luckily Illy manages great and her other eye is completely healthy. Her future owner is so in love with her that doesn’t want to give her up even now. And because Illy will live with him in Bydgoszcz, we will be able to ensure her veterinary care even at her new home.

And for now Illy fools around with us. She provokes her siblings to play, runs around like nothing’s wrong. Sometimes she sleeps with us holding a hand, neck and purrs when she’s pet – she was also a first one in litter I to do that.  She gains weight beautifully and sometimes gets to the bowl with her front paws so noone cat eat her pate. 🙂
