Visiting Forrest

Yesterday we took the invitation and went to Toruń to vistit Forrest and his family. Almost two weeks ago he (as the rest of litter “F”) had his first birthday. Of course we remembered to bring him feathers that he liked so much when he was still with us. It turned out he still likes to play with it.

Forrest is son of our Elmirka Viosna*PL and Dofin Musipusi*RU. He got his colours half from mom (seal – black points) and half from dad (tabby – stripes). He looks alike both of his parents. He has nice round shaped head and big, eyes. Smooth body, very proportional. When he spoke to us, I felt as it was Dofin – that’s how similar his voice and meowing is. Although he is spayed he didn’t gain too much weight – he weights 3,5 kg.

Forrest is a true member of his family. Specially for him, his owners put protective net all over their balcony to grand him safety. He also has special shelves that are his observation point over the yard. One of the poles that holds the balcony roof was brained with special cord so it can be used as a cat tree for scratching. There are plans to modify remaining two poles the same way.

Forrest isn’t the only pet in the family. There is also a bearded dragon female. Together they climb over the balcony net or warm up around a heating terrarium lamp. The lizard stays on her “branch” and Forrest lays on the top of the terrarium.

Forrest is a beautifull example, that thai cats are “dog-cats”. Twice a day Forrest goes for a walk on his leash. Before him, the family owned a dog, so walks were a part of everyday routine. When Forrest appeared there was no reason to quit that even if he’s a cat. And he really enjoys it. Sometimes even passing cars slow down or stop to check out this phenomenon. But for thai cats owners it’s not so uncommon. It’s a natural thing cuz this breed learns quickly and gets used to owners lifestyle.

Near home there is a little grassland where Forrest hunts for… lizards. Usually he manages to catch their tail when lizard leaves it behind. He chews it a little but in the end he spits it out. Conclusion – lizards tails are not really tasty. Forrest likes to waylay dogs as well. So far all of them run away. That’s how strong character can be. 😉

We are really happy that we could visit Forrest and his family. Knowing that there are people, who can ensure such fantastic conditions, gives us motivation to improve our cattery and great satisfaction.
